RPG Dice is a program for generating the random numbers and sets of numbers needed in roll playing games. It can roll up to 6 different dice from between 2 and 32,000 sides. Just try rolling a 32,000 sided die without having it keep rolling right off the table, and you will quickly see why this is a critical piece of software. :-)
Probably more useful than rolling individual dice, is the software's ability to roll entire sets of attributes, or batches of attributes. A DM can quickly generate entire legitimate sets of attributes with this software for a small war party or a large army.
Internally, the software follows the same process that a person would... When rolling 3d6, it really generates 3 separate d6 rolls and adds them together. And testing and verifying the quality of randomness was a significant part of making this software. This software uses cryptographic quality random number generation that can not be distinguished from the results of a room full of full of monkeys rolling dice.
NOTE: There are two versions of this program... Both do the same thing equally well, but the "Granite Dice" version is straightforward and normal. The "Chindogu Enhanced" version adds a lot of high tech silliness that really doesn't make it better from any practical standpoint, but will hopefully make you say to yourself, "My God, why would anyone spend time doing that to a dice program." For example, the "Chindogu Enhanced" version is 4-way asymmetrically multithreaded, allowing you to roll 10,000 stats in perhaps 6 seconds instead of 12 if you have a sufficiently powerful multiprocessor system. Do a Google search for "Chindogu" to learn more about this silliness.
